007 James Bond Theme Song

Double Duran, or DD, whatever you want to call them, this band has created an indelible mark in the history of music. Their talent as clearly seen on their videos gave way to the use of Music Television in the early 80’s up to now. Amazing how Duran Duran’s combination of talent and good looks changed the music world. Their music starts from being Roxy to New Wave. Through the years, you can see their lyrics and rhymes maturing, making them one of Rock & Roll’s royalty. Duran Duran fans are called Durannies, and I am one of them, if not one of the very first fan the band has had. Allow me to discuss the music and the looks of this great band.
Nick Rhodes and John Taylor started out with the formation of the band in the late 1970’s when they were still in their teens. Nick plays the synthesizers while John Taylor acts as the Bass Guitarist. Auditions led to Andy Taylor who got extreme talent on the lead guitar. Soon, the good looking, shy Roger Taylor was hired to play the drums. Simon Le Bon became the group’s lead vocalist not because of his singing prowess but it was what John Taylor would call later on as charming good looks and his crazy dancing. They used to perform in the Rumrunner’s Club and with supportive and very good managers and producers, they set out to create albums and music videos that made them a celebrity overnight.
These British guys then proceeded to conquering the British charts and the US Billboards. Planet Earth and Hungry like the wolf is one of the band’s very first videos that got extremely massive and impressive following among music lovers worldwide. Their previous video Girls on Film has to be restricted to open viewing due to some frontal nudity, but the music is really great, up to now you can still feel the rhythm of the song every time you hear it.
The Reflex is a turning point for the band. This song which went to number one in the UK Charts and soared all the way to number one in the US Top Charts in just a very short time paved the way for them to conquer the United States and Canada. They went on tour around the States and Canada in the early part of 1984. They recorded the live video for The Reflex in Canada and actually filmed the audience as water rushed from the upper part of the stage that showered the amazed crowd. Like all other bands, the fans mostly consist of screaming teenage girls and young adults.
The fame and intrigue that normally accompanies success began to take its toll with the band members. But nevertheless, these did not allow them to lose their professionality when it comes to their music. Such popularity has made them the number one favorite band of the late Princess Diana back then. This popularity allow the band to record the theme song for the James Bond Movie A View To A Kill, making the theme song the only James Bond Theme that went to number one in both the UK and the US Pop Charts.
They later on each ventured to other projects to further enhance their musical ability. Nick, Simon and Roger formed a band they called Arcadia and produced one album called So Red, The Rose which consists of the song Election Day, The Flame, among others. John Taylor and Andy Taylor collaborated with Chic band members and Robert Palmer to create a band named The Power Station. Their one album too created hits such as Some Like it Hot and Get It On (Bang a Gong)
These days, they are once again reunited touring and making more mature music. Older and wiser, each band member has surpassed all intrigues and trials in their personal life. With kids now, they are still the band to watch. Like they said, If it’s British, it’s Best!

From Russia with Love [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] $4.98 After the surprise success of 1962’s Dr. No, the producers of the budding James Bond series began to establish what would become its trademark elements, with its debonair anti-hero frolicking libidinously through increasingly amped-up foreign intrigue and exotic locales. Musically, this soundtrack represents perhaps their most crucial decision: hiring band leader/budding composer John Barry as sco… |

The James Bond Collection $42.98 The exploits of Ian Fleming’s British super-agent James Bond have long since become the longest running film series in history, spanning 40 years and counting. Not the least of the cycle’s charm has been its music, a body of work that encompasses pop clichés (the twangy guitar of Monty Norman’s original “James Bond Theme”) and elegant underscores alike. While this collection spans music from Dr. … |
