Great books, exciting video games, adventurous films and much, much more are all part of the legacy of one of the most well known fictional characters of the twentieth century, James Bond. Any trivia game about this character will show that the character was initially created by British author Ian Flemming, although several other people have contributed to the Bond canon over the years. Flemming wrote 12 initial novels detailing the adventures of the British super spy, and two collections of short stories.
A James Bond quiz will show that many people have strong associations of the character, although many of these are tied to his portrayal in the films as much or more as they are to the books. The films are the most successful film franchises of all time. The image of Bond immediately brings to mind the Aston Martin, the Martini, a Tuxedo, and a neatly concealed Walther PPK.
James Bond trivia shows that there are 22 official Bond movies. However, there is also one “unofficial” movie which was made by a different production company. EON is the company that has produced the true 22, Bond movies which have been made to date. The first film in the series was Dr. No, which was released in 1962, and the most recent was Quantum of Solace. The “unofficial” film was called Never Say Never Again.
Several different actors will show up on a James Bond quiz, as he has been portrayed by some of the best throughout his film life. The most famous and iconic portrayal of Bond is without a doubt the first, by Sean Connery. The actors who followed him in order were George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. The scripting process has begun again for the 23rd James Bond picture, and it is assumed that Craig will be returning for his third turn with the character.
The James Bond series also has a cast of memorable other characters who have become a part of the mythos associated with agent 007. M – the leader of the British intelligence agency for which Bond works, Q – the creator of Bond’s wondrous gadgets, and Moneypenny, the sexy secretary for M.
The well known character of James Bond has inspired an entire genre of television and film. The character is so popular that it received its own parody franchise in Mike Myer’s Austin Powers series.
